About

The Ohio Corn Marketing Program (OCMP) was approved by an affirmative vote of Ohio’s corn producers. The voluntary, self-help program allows for the collection of a half cent-per-bushel assessment by all first purchasers of the grain. The program started April 1, 1989.

Funds from the program can be invested only for research, market development, education and promotion purposes. The program’s goal is to create new and expanded markets for corn and to increase the new farm income of Ohio’s corn producers. The development of the U.S. ethanol industry is quite possibly the biggest single accomplishment of any checkoff program in the nation.

Corn Checkoff

To tackle the challenges of future market shifts that Ohio farmers will face, we need your help to expand the efforts of the checkoff program.

We encourage you to support our efforts to increase the corn checkoff from a half-cent per bushel to 1 cent per bushel. The OCMP and its farmer leaders are committed to fulfill our mission on your behalf.

OCMP Board List/District Map

A 15-farmer member, farmer-elected board makes decisions regarding the program. Board members are elected from their respective districts for three-year terms. OCMP takes its responsibility very seriously and reflects at its history with pride.
