TIPS TO INFLUENCE RUSH We continue to work to ensure a positive opinion among the public regarding corn-based ethanol and the food and fuel debate. But we also need your help. Many of you are loyal Rush Limbaugh listeners. Rush has been critical of ethanol. While we’re working with his producers, we also need a strong outpouring of your help to change his perspective. Here is what you can do to influence Rush on the food versus fuel issue and the need for corn-based ethanol: Email Rush at rush@eibnet.com and his producers Kit Carson and Kathleen Prayias at kit@eibnet.com and cookie@eibnet.com respectively. Call your local radio station that programs the Rush Limbaugh Show. Ask for the station manager and tell them of your disapproval of Rush’s view on the issue. Call Rush’s show at 1-800-282-2882. Write letters and call advertisers on Rush’s show. Let them know that Rush is wrong to blame corn farmers and ethanol for the rise in food prices and urge them to reevaluate their advertising on his show. Here is a list and contact info for the advertisers: General Motors P.O. Box 33170 Detroit, MI 48232-5170 313-556-5000 Ask for the CEO’s office (point out we appreciate GM’s stance on biofuels and increased support of flex fuel vehicles, but are surprised they’d be a lead sponsor for some who disagrees with that opinion) Barnes and Noble 122 Fifth Avenue New York, NY 10011 800-422-7717 Ask for Mary Ellen Keating in corporate communications LifeLock 60 E Rio Salado Pkwy Ste 400 Tempe, AZ 85281 480-682-5100 Ask for Todd Davis, CEO, or Mike Prusinski, vice president of communications or email Mike at mike@lifelock.com Contact Dan Metter, senior vice president of talk radio sales for Premiere Radio, at 646-530-8606. Metter is in charge of relations with advertisers for the show. Start and sign an online petition to be sent to Rush and Premiere Radio. Ask all your friends and family, fellow farmers, and acquaintances to sign it. Rush uses props during his opening monologue. For example, send rush a box of corn flakes telling him that there is only 6 cents of corn in an 18 ounce box of corn flakes. Ask him to find out why food companies have raised the price of the cereal substantially higher. |
